WHAT EXPECT IN YOUR LEASSI
πΎRed Ball & Red Ball Plus Hotshots is aimed at 5-7 year olds.
πΎSome children will be capable of starting younger, but this is a general guide.
πΎYour coach will remain the same throughout the term, click here to meet our coaches.Movement and Spatial Awareness:
πΎLearn combinations of movements including running, side skipping, hopping, skipping, backwards walking and jumping.
πΎChildren learn to move through different areas of the court and become aware of the lines on the court and the space of the court.
πΎMovement drills will all be in a fun game based environment and may be used with and without the racquet and ball.
πΎBalancing exercises with the racquet and ball will be used regularly.Tracking:
πΎChildren will learn how to track the speed and depth of moving balls in fun game based exercises.
Throwing and Catching:
πΎBoth important skills for tennis and many other sports.
πΎChildren will learn how to throw and catch which in turn also helps hand eye coordination, balance and focus.
πΎChildren learn that controlling direction when throwing is important.Simple Serving:
πΎIntroduction to the serve and understanding that it starts off a tennis point.
Basic Forehand and Backhand:
πΎBasic swing patterns will be taught and children will have the chance to hit many balls during their lesson to develop all the above skills and progress to the ORANGE BALL
STAGE.
πΎWe will teach direction and how to aim to specific areas of the court.
Basic forehand and backhand volley:
πΎIntroduction to the volley and the basic technique of volleying. -
